As we watch the aftermath of the verdict in the highly watched Casey Anthony trial, I'm prompted to remember in prayer families everywhere who have lost children to death for any reason.
All too often, these high profile cases grab our attention and energy, and yet we remain unaware of the needs of families in our own communities who are suffering loss and grief for a variety of reasons. We forget our troops, serving bravely in foreign lands to preserve our peace. We forget the families coping with the loss of children to extended illness, or those whose death came in an instant without any warning at all.
In this situation, rather than second guessing the jury in this case, let's gather together in prayer for the repose of the soul of little Caylee Anthony and for all children who have lost their lives. May their souls rest in peace.
