On Wednesday of this week, I’ll be able to cross a lifelong dream off of my “some day” list as I depart on a nine-day trip to Israel. I’ll be in the company of nine other Catholic writers as part of a trip arranged by the Catholic Press Association in conjunction with the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.

Our nine-day adventure will take us to many of the highlights of Israel—mentally, as I write this I’m still preparing for all of the surprises, adventures and blessings that will surely find us in the Holy Land. I’m hoping to share this adventure with you, my friends at CatholicMom.com, by posting here on the blog and at my Facebook and Twitter pages.

My main purpose today is to invite you to share your prayer intentions with me. I will be carrying those as we journey to several very holy sites, and it will be a sincere honor to carry your prayers with me. If you’d prefer to share those anonymously, please feel free to email me at lisahendey@gmail.com and I will add your intentions to my book of prayers.

Also, I know we have some world travelers here, so if any of you have traveled in Israel I’d love your last minute tips and suggestions. I’ll likely be packing tomorrow, so be sure to send hints on what to wear and where to go. We won’t have a great deal of control over our schedule, but I’d love to hear from folks who have experienced this type of a trip in recent years. Finally, please pray for my husband who will be holding down our fort in my absence and for my fellow travelers as we embark on this amazing adventure together.
