WATERTOWN, MA (February 7, 2012) –The CatholicTV® Network to Premiere a New Groundbreaking Documentary Series

Catholicism, a groundbreaking documentary series and multi-media study program hosted by Father Robert Barron, will premiere on the CatholicTV Network Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Catholicism will take viewers on a journey across the planet and show how the Catholic Church’s influence on humanity has created a global culture.

Catholicism was released by ‘Word on Fire Catholic Ministries’ in the fall of 2011. The 10-part DVD series takes viewers around the world and deep into the faith, spanning in more than 50 locations and over 15 countries, stunningly filmed in high-definition cinematography.

Catholicism illustrates the truth, goodness and beauty of the Catholic faith in an epic media experience. Viewers will witness a vision of the Catholic faith never seen before. From the lands of the Bible to the great shrines of Europe, from the heartland of America to the mysteries of Asia and the beating heart of Africa, see the passion and glory of the faith that claims more than one billion of the earth’s people.

Catholicism’s host, Father Robert Barron, is the founder of ‘Word on Fire Catholic Ministries’, a nonprofit, global media organization that supports Catholic evangelical preaching and reaches millions of people to draw them into, or back to, the Catholic faith. A priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, Father Barron holds the Francis Cardinal George Chair of Faith and Culture at Mundelein Seminary.

The television series tells the story of Catholicism around the world using art, architecture, literature, music and all the riches of the Catholic tradition. Father Barron’s Catholicism will premiere Wednesday, February 8, at 8:30 p.m. on the CatholicTV Network.

The premiere episode, Happy Are We The Teachings of Jesus, will air on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 8:30 PM. In this episode, Father Barron highlights the Beatitudes, the path of non-violence and lessons of forgiveness.
