A True Friend

A friend is there
regardless of the hour
or circumstances.
Nothing is secret
as everything is laid out
for one another to see.

True, honest,
and genuine
a friend is indeed.
Someone to celebrate
and mourn with
over a cup of hot tea.

Trials come,
but the relationship remains unbroken.
There is no harming
a strong bond of love.
There is no question
as to when it will end,
because a true friendship will last
for miles and miles.

Sprinting doesn't lengthen it;
for it is more like a marathon.
Love is eternal.
That is where the heart of a friend lies.
