I am by no means a "metal head", but when it comes to listening to Catholic music, my tastes are pretty diverse. That's why I was happy to learn about the amazing band Seven Sorrows and their unique way of using their music to (rather loudly) proclaim their passion for the Faith. The band says of themselves:

Seven Sorrows is a Catholic band unashamed to proclaim the truth of the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic Church. We are proud to be conservative, bound to the Holy Father, faithful to the Magisterium, consecrated to the Immaculate and Sorrowful Heart of Mary, and we are not afraid to speak against that which goes against Catholic beliefs, such as abortion, contraception, pornography, premarital sex, immodest dress, drunkenness, etc.

God blesses us all with gifts and it is our duty to use those gifts to glorify His Church. Each day we must "strive towards sainthood" (Pope Benedict XVI, 2007) and focus on a more virtuous life following the Cardinal virtues and the virtues they teach us (ex. chastity, humility)

We strive to spread devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows and her most sorrowful heart.

Our music ranges from rock, punk, metal, back to acoustic.

To celebrate the season of Lent, Seven Sorrows has released their new album Via Crucis, inspired by the Stations of the Cross. Via Crucisis the perfect example of why I love Seven Sorrows -- because they have taken something they are passionate about, prayed over it, and employed that inspiration to create something that is wholly, uniquely, their way of loving the Lord. In the same way that I write to share the Good News in my own way, Seven Sorrows is using the gifts God has given them to lift up and encourage others.
