We're reflecting on the first glorious mystery of the rosary today as part of our celebration of the launch of A Catholic Mother's Companion to Pregnancy.

It has been a week of dying to myself, lemme tell ya. In the midst of all the fun and attention of this book tour, I've had some very humbling moments (of the less-than-positive variety) and a number of challenges.

I forget, so often, that in dying to myself I will rise again, new and better. I tend to focus on the pain and discomfort, instead of looking up and holding tight to Mary's hand. Reflecting on the Baptism in the Jordan today, I find myself filled with hope in a whole new way.

Jesus never sinned. He didn't need baptism. That didn't stop him from showing us how it's done, though, from reminding me that yes, I will come out of the water new and refreshed.

Our host today is Victoria Watkins from Mommy Marginalia. You'll find my reflection on the Resurrection there, as well as the prayers.

I hope you'll join us today--and each day of the tour--while we pray together for all of our intentions. I have a special set of intentions that I'm carrying with me as I pray this, and I will remember each of yours as well.

Don't forget that you can enter to win a Nook tablet as we pray and help us celebrate the launch of the latest title in the CatholicMom.com book line. You can enter once a day during from now until October 28.
