We're reflecting on the third luminous mystery of the rosary today as part of our celebration of the launch of A Catholic Mother's Companion to Pregnancy.

It has taken me years to get a handle on just what this mystery is, on what kind of journey it can lead me to take. Father Benedict Groeshel, in his audio rosary "The Rosary Is a Luminous Place," talks about the kingdom coming in the only place it really can, the human heart.

That really strikes me, every time I think about it. The kingdom of God has to start in my heart. It has to take root within me before it can spread.

It's like setting out to change your spouse--or anyone else, for that matter. It can't be done, not really. You can only change yourself. And in changing yourself, you notice something amazing: that other person, suddenly, is different.

Our host today is Rebecca Frech at Shoved to Them. You'll find my reflection on the Proclamation of the Kingdom there, as well as the prayers.

I hope you'll join us today--and each day of the tour--while we pray together for all of our intentions. I have a special set of intentions that I'm carrying with me as I pray this, and I will remember each of yours as well.

Don't forget that you can enter to win a Nook tablet as we pray and help us celebrate the launch of the latest title in the CatholicMom.com book line. You can enter once a day during from now until October 28.
