Pregnancy Centers Needed!

You know what I love about my work here, and specifically with our Lisa Hendey? The awesome ideas I get a chance to be a part of.

Here's the latest:

Send copies of A Catholic Mother's Companion to Pregnancy: Walking with Mary from Conception to Baptism to pregnancy centers free of charge.

The idea behind this is that there are a number of people who can benefit from the guidance and companionship of the book, but who can't afford it. There are many ways we show support for each other, and encouraging these young, pregnant, and often scared women to walk with Mary is one way.

I realize, as I type all of that, that I sound very self-serving. But let me tell you this: I get nothing from this in terms of money.

I used to volunteer in a pregnancy center. It broke my heart. After I had my own kids, those women who go to pregnancy centers became an even more intimate part of my prayers and the focus of many of my donations over the years. To share my book with them is the least I can do.

We want to launch this initiative on Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013, and run it through Good Friday, March 22, 2013. You'll donate to cover the cost of the book and the shipping and the pregnancy centers will benefit by getting copies of the book.

But before we can start, we need pregnancy centers, and we need them quickly!

Fill out the form below to submit a pregnancy center (or use this link). You'll need the full name of the center, along with the address, phone number, and contact name (or your own, if you're willing to be a liaison to get books to the center).

I will contact the centers, make sure they're interested in being on the receiving end of this project, and add them to our recipient list. We need 10-20 centers.

The fun part: a contest!

For every center you submit, you will be entered in a book giveaway of immense proportions--Lisa and I both have stacks of new releases (so many, in fact, that I don't have a set number--there will probably be at least 10 winners).
