Today's Gospel: Matthew 21:33-43, 45-46

The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone;
by the Lord has this been done,
and it is wonderful in our eyes

This is an interesting passage because it addresses a lot of grey areas of our faith.

Is it enough to say that we are good people so we will be allowed to spend eternity in Heaven? We know the answer to this is no. But what about those in the world who honestly believe this? What about those who really don't know any better?

We all have people in our lives who are kind souls, they give to charity, they hold doors for people and lend out pens with no hopes of getting them back. But, they don't go to Mass. They don't receive the sacrament of Reconciliation. They don't put Jesus at the center of their lives.

Are these people going to Heaven? I don't know if that is for us to understand or decide. But, I do know that we have an obligation to spread the Good News and evangelize so that the people we come across each day cannot claim they did not know.

So, while ignorance might be bliss for many, they obligation and honor to preach the Gospel falls upon those of us who are blessed enough to know the Truth. If you need practical ways to do this today, check here.

Ponder:

Who in my life needs to be introduced or reintroduced to the Lord? What ways can I reach them today?

Pray:

Lord, show me how to share the Gospel in a way that will be accepted and loved by those who are unfamiliar.
