Today's Gospel: John 15:9-11
Joy. Therein lies the gift of Jesus. The joy that he brings when you give your life to Him.
By remaining in him and living within His commandments, there is a peace that cannot be explained. A peace in the midst of sorrow, suffering, poverty, hopelessness.
Jesus is truly the light of the world, and will lead you to true joy, if you but follow Him. “Remain in my love”, stay close to Him, receive Him, pray to Him.
We experience many forms of love in this world, but all pale in comparison to the love of the Father. “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you.” The example of the Father, given to the son and in turn to us, to love one another without reserve. He joys in us when we obey His commands and try to do His will and we in turn find complete joy. We surrender our free will to find that in surrendering we are finally free, free to live the life that Jesus died for us to regain.
Ponder:
Jesus shows us how to live by His obedience to the Father, can we think of ways to be more like Jesus in our everyday life?
Pray:
Father, you bestowed on us the greatest gift the world has ever known, I praise you and thank you for the precious gift of your beloved Son.
