Sophia Institute Press released this month *[For God and Country](http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1622822420/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=1622822420&linkCode=as2&tag=catholicmomcom&linkId=WF7HS3ZP737VWRFM)*, a new biography of Saint Joan of Arc—a saint whose name we all recognize, but whose story may be less familiar to us.

Joan of Arc isn't your typical saint.

Within five years she was rallying a demoralized army, leading the French to a definitive defeat of the English. Captured and imprisoned in England, at nineteen years old she was burned at the stake after a rigged ecclesiastical inquisition falsely charged her with heresy.

Groomed from her earliest years for a specific mission from God, she responded with indefatigable resolve to liberate her homeland. Her extraordinary, heroic witness led countless souls in religious fidelity to God and compassionate charity to others.

In these pages, you won't simply learn about St. Joan of Arc's mission and accomplishments; author Fr. Michael Cerrone will lead you to meditate on her profound legacy of virtue, and her heroic and enduring love for God and country.

> *“Joan of Arc’s momentous appearance on the stage of medieval European and Church history is skillfully recounted by Father Michael Cerrone. A colorful and insightful narrative awaits and will reward the reader.”*
> * **Cardinal Edwin O’Brien***
> * Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem*
