These aren't even all of the highlights. I recommend looking at the e3 articles at The Catholic Geeks for that.

1. Halo 5, Guardians

This should -- SHOULD-- be safe for kids. I'll have to discover the language level, though.

With gameplay:

There’s Nathan Fillion, both in voice and face. Thankfully, we’ve also got the return of Keith David (Gargoyles) as the Arbiter. So, maybe, we can get some more background on just what happened in Halo 4 with the overall plot of the space opera they had going throughout the original Halo trilogy.

Also, they’ve broken up the story into two lines, where you’re playing two different sides of the campaign.

Obviously, Halo: Guardians looks shiny. It had better at this point. Though I don’t see a massive leap forward from the last-gen Halo 4.

Also, like Doom, it has some parkour and jerpacks stolen straight from Titanfall.  But this does the shoutout and co-op aspect better.  In short, it has a reason for a co-op mode instead of just copying the same character on the screen for no reason.

Yes, it really does look all sorts of epic, with some shiny new powers and abilities.

2. Plants versus Zombies: Garden Warfare 2

Tom Clancy's The Division

This looks awesome. I, however, will not play it. Why? Because it's an online-only game.  Dang it. Is it kid-friendly?  It's online, so assume not. :)

Mass Effect: Andromeda

I loved this series. It will probably be complete inappropriate for kids, however...

Actually, I can't say that; I've seen much, much worse.

Mirror's Edge: Catalyst

First thought: ooh, shiny.

Second thought: Dang it, I have to finish the first game.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPa5BrLPtxs&w=560&h=315

I loved the first game. It was beautiful and well written, with strong character arcs, and utterly, utterly cinematic. This is the standard that Indiana Jones has to stand up to in the future.

I can't wait for this one. And I hate that it's Xbox-only.

Star Wars: Battlefront

Because it's Star Wars.

Will it be kid safe? It should be. Will it be? Depends on if it's all online or not.

Fallout 4

I still haven't even played Fallout 3 yet (I have it on my PC), but this looks shiny. I can't tell you too much about it, though. Or if kids can get away with it.

Though ... they nuked Boston? Do we care?

Eh, I'm New York Irish. We have a friendly grudge with Bahstan.

Anyway, this looks like fun. The graphics an user interface looks smooth and interesting. I'm almost surprised, really.

Also, the opening looks a bit like a parody of the 1950s ... with robots ... until they nuke it all.

The Last Guardian

No enemies. Just a puzzle game. Just a boy and his ... griffin?

About time: this thing was only announced about eight years ago. No, I’m not exaggerating. This was supposed to be a PS3 game.

Brought to you by the people who brought you Ico and Shadow of the Colussus, this is about a boy and his … very shaggy griffin? I don’t know, what would you call that one?

It’s coming out in 2016. We’ll see.
