Something amazing is happening in Washington, D.C. No, there hasn't been a wide-spread conversion among politicians, making them righteous and just people. But this awesome event may very well be the beginning of a much-needed conversion in our country.

It's called David's Tent. You know, like the tent King David erected in his capital city for the Ark of the Covenant. He then hired 4,000 musicians and 288 singers to praise to God unceasingly.

Well, this David's Tent had been raised in the shadow of the Washington Monument on the Mall in our capital. Starting on September 11 and continuing until the eve of the election on November 8, 2016, there will be continuous music coming from the Tent. That is 244 days, 10,000 hours, of praise and worship. The organizers of David's Tent are calling it a "love song to Jesus."

What a beautiful thing. Right in our nation's capital, at all hours of the day and night, words of love and praise are being lifted up to Heaven.

Furthermore, to the side of David's Tent is Ezra's platform where Scripture is being read around the clock, too. A 24/7 Bible Read-a-thon!

So, if you are blessed enough to be in Washington, D.C. some time in the next year, be sure to stop by and add your voice to the worship going on.

If you are a musician, and can give David's Tent a couple hours of your time and talent, email them at worship@davidstentdc.org. They are currently trying to fill all the 2-hour time slots to keep the song going. Neither your style of music nor your choice of instrument matters. They have had everything from guitar and drums to banjos and washboards, from harps to harmonicas. As a nondenominational group, they only ask that your song worship the Lord our God and Him alone. That means that your beautiful renditions of the Hail Mary will have to be saved for another occasion. That's ok - I don't think Our Lady will mind. No doubt she will very much enjoy this concert in honor of her Son.

As King David said, "Give praise with blasts upon the horn, praise Him with harp and lyre. Give praise with tamborine and dance, praise Him with strings and pipe. Give praise with crashing cymbals, praise Him with sounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath give praise to the Lord! Hallelujah!" (Ps 150)

So, as the elections draw closer, pray for our nation. Pray that we turn back to the God so many of our forefathers came here to serve and worship freely. Then remember David's Tent and know that your pray will be lifted to heaven on a musical note.
