Welcome to our 33 day Marian Consecration Retreat as we prayerfully anticipate the commencement of the Year of Mercy. Join us as we share the book 33 Days to Morning Glory: A Do-It-Yourself Retreat In Preparation for Marian Consecration by Fr. Michael E. Gaitley, MIC.
In today's reading we learn about Mother Teresa's three visions she received in 1947 that better helped her understand Jesus's mission for her in India. In all three she saw the masses--the innumerable people who were begging for her help. In the last vision she is a little girl and Our Lady is with her, facing the crowd and facing Jesus with her, her left hand on Mother Teresa's left shoulder and her right hand supporting her arm.
In our own Calcutta, our homes, the needs that we need to meet can sometimes feel as overwhelming as Mother Teresa's vision. And just like Mother Teresa needed Jesus and Mary to fulfill her mission, we need them as well.
When I am struggling, do I imagine myself as a young child in need of Mary's comfort and support? If not, why not?
Let Us Pray:
Mary, you are our most perfect mother, ever ready to console and encourage us in our attempts to answer your Son's call for our lives. Please help us to remember that you are always near, as close as a mother is to her little child.
