Today's Gospel: John 14, 1-6

Poor Thomas! He always seems to be a little behind the 8-ball, doesn't he? If the apostles were cast as the Seven Dwarfs, he'd probably get stuck playing Dopey. "What? What are you talking about? Which way?"
I can certainly sympathize with Dopey Doubting Thomas. My husband and I are currently trying to decide whether or not we should move from our beautiful old house into a multi-family down the street, which would probably save money, but isn't a place we'd be thrilled to live in while raising five kids. I'm having a tough time thinking about anything else, and not knowing what will happen makes me feel stressed, anxious, and unhappy. "What should we do? Where should we go? Which is the way?"

Jesus can help me with my problem, just like he helped Thomas. What did He say? "Do not let your hearts be troubled... I am the way and the truth and the life." In other, less profound words, "Look to Me. I am what you need. Follow Me." Turning to Jesus, opening myself up to Him and His guidance, is the best thing I can do.

So what should I do with my housing situation? No, I still don’t know the answer, but I do know that I can continually turn my worry and fear over to God. I can ask for His guidance and peace, and I can trust that, as long as I keep trying to follow Him, I’ll be right where He wants me to be.

Ponder:

What am I worrying about today? Is it pulling my focus away from Christ, or am I using it as a reminder to trust Him?

Pray:

Lord, please help me to turn to You throughout the day, trusting You to guide me. Amen.
