Recharge your faith life at Camp Catholic this summer

It’s finally summer! School is out, the weather is heating up and family vacations are around the corner. As you relax into a summer schedule with your family and friends and recharge your batteries, here’s something you might not remember to consider: What are you doing to recharge your faith life this summer?

As a new father expecting my first child at the beginning of August, I have thought a lot about how I will pass on my Catholic faith to my kids. It’s not just going to happen on its own—it’s something I need to prioritize. I’ve also realized that the first step in that process is to educate myself more about the Church and to continue to practice my faith every day.

Fortunately, there’s an easy way to set aside some time beyond Sunday Mass to think, pray and learn more about the rich Catholic faith traditions we share. All you have to do is sign your family up for Camp Catholic—and you don’t even have to go anywhere to participate!

Camp Catholic is an online summer camp that provides digital campers with a weekly email filled with catechetical, fun, faith-filled content and activities to help Catholics of all ages grow in their love and knowledge of the Church. There are infographics and simple explanations of why Catholics do what they do, a weekly Gospel passage with reflections from seminarians, and a weekly challenge that encourages you to get out and practice your faith, while also evangelizing on social media with the hashtag #CampCatholic.

Camp kicked off on June 12 with a focus on the liturgical year, but messages will continue through August, so sign up now!

The camp is organized by Catholic Extension, a national fundraising organization that strengthens the Catholic Church in 90 under-resourced American dioceses. With the support of our donors, we do incredible work to literally build churches and build up Catholic faith communities across the country. Camp Catholic is a way to extend our reach even further, by encouraging Catholics everywhere to connect with their faith this summer.
