Today's Gospel: Mark 4:21-25 - Memorial of Sts. Timothy and Titus

Proclaim God's marvelous deeds to all the nations! Our Christian faith, our belief in the goodness of God is not to be hidden. When we are in right relationship with our Father, there is an authentic joy that comes to possess us. This joy is not to be hidden, not “put under a bushel, or under a bed”, but to be shown as a light to the world. I once heard a Protestant pastor say, “If you have Jesus in your heart, notify your face.” Our smile can bring conversion to others. People will begin to question why you are so joyful, giving you a chance to evangelize and share the saving message of Christ.

When we faithfully read and listen to the Word of God, we, whether knowingly or not, allow God’s Word to take root in our lives. His Word transforms us from the inside out, and then pushes us outward to share His Word with others. Our faith in God is the only thing in the world that increases internally the more we give it others. This is, perhaps, what Jesus means when He says, “To the one who has, more will be given.” The more we share our faith, the greater it grows within us. Today let us, like Saints Timothy and Titus, find new ways to share our faith with those around us.

Ponder:

Am I truly letting the joy of Christ permeate my heart so that I can share that joy all people that I encounter?

Pray:

Come, Holy Spirit. Fill my heart with so much joy that it overflows with love for Jesus and my neighbor.
