"Saving Sunday" by Elizabeth Estrada (CatholicMom.com) By Theara Meek (2009) via Flickr, all rights reserved.[/caption] A few months ago I heard a discussion on Catholic radio about what people did on Sunday. The focus of the conversation was about keeping Sunday as Our Lord's day. This conversation sparked my interest by the many things that people were sharing about what they did on Sunday and what led them to those choices. For me, Sundays had been a catch up day for a long time. As a single mom, teacher, and catechist it seemed that Sunday was the day where my son and I ran around like chickens with our heads cut off. We would start our Sundays with Sunday School and then off to run errands we went. After that, we went to Mass and then got ready for Monday. So, after hearing how people were keeping Sunday holy, I decided to give it a try.  I began by not doing laundry on Sundays. Then I decided to run errands during the week, even if it was one on one day and another on a different day.  Now, on Sunday we go to Sunday School and Mass.  The rest of our Sunday is very low-key.  Most of it we spend at home. My son and I feel much more refreshed on Mondays. We are not morning people and Mondays are hard for us. They are still hard, but not how they were before. The more I think about this, I know that there is no way I am mightier than God; if he rested on Sunday I should as well. With His love and grace all things are possible. Now it seems I don't feel rushed during the week and things get done. I am so glad that I am saving Sunday for the Lord, not perfectly, but I'm trying.

What do you do on Sundays?
