Join the Catholic Mom community in a simple Prayer of Marian Consecration, led by Fr. Jim Phalan, C.S.C.

Over the last 33 days, we have journeyed with prayer and reflection in preparation for today's Mother's Day Catholic Mom Marian Consecration to Jesus through Mary.

As we learned, according to St. Louis de Montfort, the purpose of this time of preparation is for the faithful to work on removing the spirit of the world so to take on the Spirit of Christ. By looking at the profound words of wisdom from not only de Montfort but also Fr. Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., St. John Paul II, Thomas à Kempis, the Scriptures, and of course, the Blessed Virgin Mary, we've grown ever closer to our Lord and deeper in our faith.

We also followed the foundation of the exercises de Montfort suggested:

  • Renouncement of the world
  • Knowledge of Self
  • Knowledge of the Blessed Virgin
  • Knowledge of Jesus Christ

Having arrived at the end of our 33-day journey, we invite you today, individually or as a family, to pray with us this sweet, simple, yet powerful prayer of consecration to Jesus through Mary. If you wish, we invite you to pray along with Fr. Jim Phalan, the Catholic Mom chaplain (the video and link appear directly below the prayer).

A Catholic Mom Marian Prayer of Consecration to Jesus through Mary

I, ________________, a sorrowful and contrite sinner renew and ratify today in your hands the vows of my Baptism.

I surrender all attachments, especially anything that keep me from growing ever closer to your Son, Jesus, and all the blessings of heaven. Every day I will choose to pray and offer sacrifices, seeking your motherly intercession and appealing for an outpouring of God's grace. I will encourage those in my family to join me and do the same.

Mary, I give you my heart and ask you to ignite within it an unquenchable fire of love for your Son. Illuminate my way to his heart, where I know I will always find peace and rest. Mary, I entrust myself to you. I entrust my spouse, children, and loved ones to your pure, humble, caring hands. I embrace and believe in the promise of the triumph of your Immaculate Heart, placing myself and all I love there.

Accept the offering of my life, my daily chores, and the service I offer to my family and community. Bless my family's work, prayer, and play; may you find it pleasing and fruitful; please present it to your Son so it may be perfected and bring even greater glory to God now and forever. Amen.
