The Way of Lucherium by Christopher J. Rziha
Geoffrey is a popular and ambitious bard who is totally devoted to the prosperous nation of Trastaluche and its motto, Progress before all. However, after a secret mission goes awry, he becomes a scapegoat for the very society he formerly adored. At his lowest point, he is rescued by a shadowy band of figures whose questionable actions both fascinate and terrify the bard. When he uncovers their plans to undermine the very foundations of Trastaluche, Geoffrey is faced with a choice. He can betray his saviors to regain the favor of a heartless lord or embark on the Way of Lucherium: a path at once mystical and grotesque that allows its followers to harness the very fabric of existence. Faced with a torrent of truths, Geoffrey is sure of only one thing: both paths will lead to suffering, but only one can grant him true light and true life.
Christopher J. Rziha completed his undergraduate studies at Benedictine College, earning degrees in philosophy, theology, and Spanish. He earned his MA at Baylor University and is currently completing his PhD in Spanish at the University of Notre Dame. He has published articles on theater and mysticism in the Spanish Baroque. He is happily married with two little boys. In addition, he is the author of the fantasy novel The Way of Lucherium.
