I'm a big fan of homemade French bread pizza, so when I heard about garlic bread pizza, I definitely wanted to try it. This makes a terrific meal with a side salad or vegetable tray, and if you slice the bread in thin pieces, it works as an appetizer as well! It's also a perfect recipe to make with the kids, since even young children can spread the sauce and sprinkle on cheese and seasoning. The ingredients for this recipe are easy to keep on hand for those busy evenings when you just don't have time to make an elaborate meal.
Garlic Bread Pizza
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
1 loaf frozen garlic bread
1/2 cup pizza sauce (see note)
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning blend
Directions:
- Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Preheat oven as directed on package of garlic bread.
- Remove garlic bread from package and separate the halves of the loaf.
- Spread pizza sauce on top of the garlic topping on each half of the loaf.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, then add Italian seasoning.
- Bake 3 to 5 minutes longer than directed on the package, depending on how crispy you like the crust.
