Each of the devotions begins with a Bible verse, and then Livezey shares a story from a time when she was caring for her mother. The devotion often ends in gratitude as she thanks the Lord for specific lessons or relationships that have impacted her caregiving journey. Other times, she shares a prayer asking for His guidance as she navigated medical decisions that needed to be made.  

My favorite part of each devotion was a thought-provoking question, like these:

Does it feel like your life has been interrupted by caregiving? Ask the Lord to sustain you in this difficult season.  

What signs of encouragement has the Lord given you along your caregiving road? Keep a watch this week for evidence of his loving care.

This is an honest reflection of a caregiving journey. It didn’t shy away from the hard days, but also focused on the joys that come from caregiving, demonstrating that caring for loved ones can be a gift.  

On the other hand, caregiving can be an isolating experience, and this devotional allows caregivers to relate to the words on the page, knowing they are not alone wherever they are in their own journey as caregivers.
