Today's Gospel: John 3:31-36 God sent us His only Son to save us and offer us a path to eternal salvation. It is our nature to sin, but God has given us Jesus, our Savior, to guide us on this journey. Jesus invites us to resist temptation as He did, to love one another and to live each day so that we may join him in heaven. This sounds like an easy task, but sometimes our faith and beliefs are challenged. Jesus knows what it is like to be tempted. He shows us how to resist temptation. Jesus calls us to resist temptation and hold on to our faith. He did not say it would be easy, or that we would always be as strong as He was, but He shows us the way; and with His help, we can resist temptation. When we are weak and give in to temptation, God consoles us in reconciliation, giving us another chance to make better choices when we are faced with temptation again. Not only does Jesus tell us to love one another, but He provides us with perfect examples of loving others throughout Scripture. When we respond to others with love, love not only flows from us but back to us through those we offer love to. Again, Jesus did not say it would be easy to love everyone we encounter, but He shows us how to do so. As we strive to follow Christ, we are bound to make mistakes. Yet, God is loving and forgiving. Christ gently guides us, offering us a path that leads us to eternal salvation.

Ponder:

Do I obey Christ in all I do?

Pray:

Father, thank You for giving us Your Son. Open my heart to follow Him so that I may join You in eternity.
