Today's Gospel: Mark 16:15-20 - St. Mark “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” (Mk 16:15) This is the great commission which Jesus gave His apostles before He ascended into heaven. This was not only intended for those standing there, but also for all of us who would come after. As moms, our primary call to evangelize is to educate our children in the faith. We are the primary example of what it means to be Catholic, day in and day out. As scary as the fact may be, they are watching us from the time they are born. We are the way that they learn how to love, how to sacrifice, how to pray, and how to worship. But our mandate to evangelize does not exist only within our home’s four walls. We are called to evangelize all we encounter in both word and deed. People should know that we are Catholic by the way that we live. There should be more to us than simply being kind, loving people (although those features are important.) In both real life and in the trenches of the online world, we should be fearless in demonstrating that we are Catholic by the beliefs that we hold, the devotions we practice, and the way we raise our children. We should strive to be a positive, joy-filled example of what it means to be Catholic so that others may look at us and want that faith as well. None of this is easy, but with God’s help, we can do it.

Ponder:

What’s one step you can take to share your faith with someone today?

Pray:

Dear Jesus, please grant me the courage to spread Your good news to all I meet today.
