Today's Gospel: Mark 12:28B-34 - 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time Jesus is about bringing completion to our lives. At one point in my life, my faith was compartmentalized to Sunday morning and rarely on my mind during the week, except maybe when I found myself in trouble. This type of lifestyle left me feeling empty. Over time I came to realize that by loving God completely with my whole being, I was able to better understand my true identity. When we love God with our whole heart, our entire understanding and strength, we find the true meaning of happiness. Now, as a busy mom with seven children ranging from 18 to 1 years old, I realize that I need to not only grow in my complete love for God, but also help my children to come to know the person of Jesus Christ too! The most significant discovery I have made is that it is worthwhile to invest in your children’s faith lives and make sure they have positive influencers to help them live out their Catholic faith. In this way, they can learn to love our God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength!

Ponder:

Do you struggle with giving God your whole self and seeing that this will give you freedom from the struggles of this world? How have you done passing on the faith to your children? Are there Catholic positive influencers in your children’s lives?

Pray:

Dear Lord, please help us to love You with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Teach us how to find completion in You so that we can honestly proclaim the same words of St. Augustine, “My heart is restless until it rests in You.” Amen
