Today's Gospel: Luke 18:35-43 I love this story; I love how the blind man, when he became aware that Jesus was coming, cried out to our Lord, pleading for Christ’s pity. Despite being rebuked and silenced by the crowd, he cried out even more, pleading for our Lord’s pity, trying to draw close to him. The blind man is a great example of what we should do when we are faced with difficult challenges and hardship. During times of great challenge, it is easy to let the obstacles distract us from our prayer life and our relationship with Christ. We become so focused on our trials that we try to go it alone, letting our difficulties mute our prayers. We try to figure it all out alone, when more than ever we should be lifting our voice above all of the noise and confusion and, like the blind man, pleading for the Lord to take pity on us. We should faithfully trust in our Lord and His plan for us.

Ponder:

Am I struggling with any challenges today? Have I lifted my voice above the noise and confusion to pray to the Lord for mercy?

Pray:

Lord, help me to remember that You are always there, especially during the hard times, and turn to You always in prayer. Amen.
