Reflect on how God equips us for our personal missions through faith and discern who He is calling us to serve today.

Today's Gospel: Mark 6:7-13

Jesus sent His apostles out two by two, to drive out demons and cure the sick. They could take nothing with them but their faith and the clothes on their back. Their faith would do the healing and serve their physical needs as well.

They go out knowing that they will not be welcome in every home. There are some who would hate them and drive them away rather than be healed. There was no time to persuade those people; the apostles simply moved on to those whom were ready to hear the Word, repent, and be healed. They had a specific mission and a specific set of natural gifts to achieve that mission.

We can sometimes feel it is our duty to convert the masses. It can feel daunting to have to defend out faith and evangelize those who are not ready to hear the Words of the Lord. But perhaps we are not all called to work that hard. We must, of course, work to nourish the souls of our children and spouses, but beyond that, perhaps we are called to preach the Good News to those who are most ready to hear us.

God has given each of us a mission, and He has equipped each of us with just what we need for our personal missions.

Ponder:

What is God calling me to do today? How has He already equipped me in that mission?

Pray:

God, You have generously provided us many gifts. Help me to recognize those gifts in my life and use them for Your glory.

Pray Together:

Reflect together on who God is calling you to serve and how He has equipped you to do so. Go serve in that way.
