Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: Mark 8:22-26

In today’s Gospel, we are shown how hands-on Jesus is in helping to heal us. He does not heal the man as a public display, but privately, with many steps and cooperation of the man himself. Jesus lays His hands upon him, smearing spittle into his eyes. He did not heal the man instantaneously, but slowly. Jesus then instructed the man to go home and be alone. He did not walk Him home but gave advice and trusted the man to follow through.

Jesus works the same way in our own lives, for our own personal healing. When we ask for assistance He gives each of us a personal encounter, but one that often takes time and active participation. He then counsels while respecting our free will. While He knows better than we what will bring us peace and helps us to see more clearly, He does not force us to do so.

The Lord will open our eyes, but He will always do so gently. May we try to see Him more clearly each day.

Ponder:

Is there something in your own life that you need to bring to the Lord for healing?

Pray:

Lord, help me to see You more clearly. To trust in Your abundant mercy.
