Today's Gospel: John 5:1-16

“Do you want to be well?”

Jesus asks the man waiting by the pool this question, and the man responds with an explanation that no one will help him to the water. In The Chosen, this banter back-and-forth continues a bit. “I didn’t ask you about the water. I asked if you want to be healed. You don’t need the water.”

What about you? Do you want to be healed? Have you been waiting for help that doesn’t seem to come, praying for God to heal you, help your situation, give you some kind of sign that He hasn’t forgotten you or your intention?

Jesus knows, and He is going to bring that healing to you. It might not be right now, but that healing will come. We just need to trust Him and trust God’s timing. God would never forget you, especially in your hour of need.

Take a breath. Close your eyes. Whisper to the Lord, “Jesus, I trust in You. Take care of everything.” Do it as often as necessary. Wash, rinse, repeat.

God will not forget you, but He might have a lesson for you to learn while you wait. Hold on, trust.

Ponder:

What is your greatest need right now? Are you trusting Jesus with that intention, or are you still trying to control the situation?

Pray:

Jesus, I trust in You. Take care of everything.
