Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: Mark 16:9-15

This Gospel offers a short summary of the post-Resurrection appearances of Jesus to Mary Magdalene; a pair of followers walking; and to the eleven apostles (whom he rebuked for not believing the first witnesses); and finally, the instruction to preach the Gospel to the whole world. While we weren’t blessed to see Jesus in person after the Resurrection, his instruction to the apostles is for us as well. We, too, are called to preach the Gospel.

As Catholic moms, our primary audience for preaching the Gospel is our family. We are called to instruct our children in the Catholic faith. We promised God that we would do so on the day of their baptism. We need to teach our children about Jesus, about Scripture, how to pray, and how to make a relationship with God the most important aspect of their lives. We do this by both our words and our example. It is important to instruct our children, but they also need to see us living out our faith on a daily basis. Do our children see us loving God and neighbor? Do they see us praying? Do they see us practicing works of mercy? As with so many aspects of parenting, the example of what we do will make much more of an impression than what we say.

Ponder:

How can you preach the Gospel in word and deed to your family today?

Pray:

Lord, help me to share the Gospel with all those whom I come in contact today. Help me to always practice what I preach.
