Join us as we reflect, ponder, and pray together inspired by today's Gospel.

Today's Gospel: Luke 10:17-24

"At that very moment he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, 'I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike.'" Luke 10:21

With a childlike disposition, I turn to the Blessed Mother as guide and teacher to help me learn more about Jesus. Aware much will remain hidden from me on this side of heaven, I seek Mary's intercession to bring me into a closer relationship with her Son. The Rosary is one of my favorite devotions. I love meditating on the mysteries, which I view as Mama Mary's homeschooling lesson plans. I humble myself so as to be open to receiving the abundant grace available in this precious yet powerful devotion.

The Rosary provides the faithful a way to grow in virtue, as Pope Saint John Paul II wrote in Rosarium Virginis Mariae. "With the Rosary, the Christian people sits at the school of Mary. . . .This school of Mary is all the more effective if we consider that she teaches by obtaining for us in abundance the gifts of the Holy Spirit, even as she offers us the incomparable example of her own 'pilgrimage of faith.'"

Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., said of Mary, "Mary is my strength; she is my spirituality; she is my peace; she is my prayer; she is my purity; she is my sureness; she is my defense, my protection." In this month of the Holy Rosary, especially today on the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary, may you find time to contemplate and grow in virtue by attending the school of Mary with the beloved Rosary in hand.

Ponder:

In what ways do you approach deepening your faith through a childlike disposition?

Pray:

Hail Mary, full of grace, thank you for being with me, particularly in reciting the Rosary. May my time with this devotion school me in all that is necessary for my salvation.
