Today's Gospel: Luke 15:1-10
Everyone knows someone who has fallen away from the Faith. Maybe a sibling, maybe a child or grandchild. It’s so hard for families when a loved one steps away from the Church. We pray and worry and sometimes cry with anxiety. But there is good news!
Jesus loves our family even more than we do. He is truly the Good Shepherd who searches for the lost sheep. When we offer our prayers for the lost sheep of the world, including our family members, God hears us. He constantly reaches out to them, waiting for each person to respond.
It's good to remember that each of us is that lost sheep at one time or another. We all lose our way at times, and God never stops pursuing us and calling us home.
If you’re praying for a loved one who has fallen away, keep it up even when it feels hopeless. Jesus is the Good Shepherd, and He will provide the path back home.
Ponder:
Are you consumed with worry over a lost sheep? Can you give control of that situation to God and let Him provide the path home?
Pray:
Lord, You know my heart, and You love my lost sheep even better than I do. Reach out, let my little sheep hear You, and show the way home again.
