Today's Gospel: Luke 18:35-43
Have you ever heard of the expression the blind leading the blind? When we feel lost or broken, these are the times where we can easily be led by others to go off to a dubious direction. Seeing the path of victory is not always clear when we are in places of despair. But the Gospel reminds us that we don’t need to see to have faith, we just need persistence and we will be brought to Jesus. As the blind man could not see, he could have easily been convinced by those around him that Jesus had gone on, but he could see Jesus was the Savior long before his eyes could. His faith and resolution healed him.
Have there been times where you doubted Jesus was with you? In hard moments, you pray and pray and feel like no one is on the other side listening. Today’s Gospel reminds us that our heart must see Him first, before our eyes. Our humility and resolve will bring us to Jesus. While others may distract or discourage our path through sin and doubt, Jesus will bring people in our lives who will lead us to Him. We just need to ask and open our heart.
Ponder:
What in your heart is blocking you from seeing Jesus?
Pray:
Open my eyes, Lord. I know You are there. Help me to see You, and help me in my weakness to trust You. Heal me, O Lord.
