Today's Gospel: Luke 7:18b-23

"Turn to me and be saved!" Everyday, "from the rising of the sun and from the west . . . I am the Lord, and there is no other." Everyday when you wake up, look out your window, look up at the sky and see what God has made for you. We can be assured that all is God's creation from the dirt to the clouds, and above the clouds, God is there in the midst of it all.

In the Gospel, John the Baptist had been telling the people that there was one to come after him. All the while Jesus was in their midst curing many of their diseases, sufferings, evil spirits, the blind and lame. So they wondered if he was the "one to come." When they asked Jesus, He sent them back to John to report what they had seen. Jesus didn't tell them who He was, He showed them.

Actions speak louder than words. You've heard that and possibly even preached that to your children! God, by His actions, shows us who He is in His creation. By Jesus' actions, He shows us who He is, so in turn we know that by our own actions, we show others who we are.

Ponder:

Do you ever feel lonely and find yourself reaching out to someone only to feel even lonelier? Did you seek out our Lord? Was prayer helpful?

Pray:

Dear Lord, thank You for showing me daily how You love me and being the example for me in how I am to live for others as You did for me.
