A huge thanks to reader Amy who shared the following idea for a "sweet" way to celebrate this week's feast days of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (6/19) and the Immaculate Heart of Mary (6/20). Amy writes:
I wanted to share these pictures of the cakes I made for our Home Enthronement to the Sacred Heart of Jesus that my family recently celebrated. With the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart feast days rapidly approaching, I thought this would be a fun idea to share with your readers/followers.
I used a heart shaped pan. I used boxed cake mix (I used strawberry cake mix because of the color, but it didn't taste as good as I thought it would). I would probably use vanilla next time. I made buttercream frosting and tinted the frosting with food coloring. I used little ziplock baggies for the writing and decorations and cut the tips off.
I didn't buy anything special as far as cake decorating supplies. I just used what I had here at home!
I was so pleased with the results. And everyone loved them! Thanks for all you do to share the faith with all of us Catholic moms.
In Christ and His Mother,
