Mother Teresa of Calcutta Bobblehead Figure Mother Teresa of Calcutta Bobblehead Figure

When I first saw this week's contest prize, I debated whether or not a "bobblehead" figurine of Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta would be appropriate. Many might feel it's not, but I decided to go ahead and give this prize away because it's actually the type of thing I'd really like to have on my desk. (Sadly, I'm not allowed to enter and will have to buy my own!)

This week's prize is donated by TheBobblehead.com. Here are the specifications:

  • Founder of the Missionaries of Charity and winner of the 1979 Noble Peace Prize
  • 7" tall
  • Prototype hand sculpted and painted
  • Made of polyresin
  • Comes in collector's color box
  • Bobblehead depicts Mother Teresa holding the rosary

If I had this image of Mother Teresa on my desk, I think her "bobbling head" might remind me to say, "Yes" more frequently in my life: "Yes" to service of the poor, "Yes" to a life spent more fully in prayer, and "Yes" to kindness and gentleness to those who live under my own roof. She famously said:

It is easy to love the people far away. It is not always easy to love those close to us. It is easier to give a cup of rice to relieve hunger than to relieve the loneliness and pain of someone unloved in our own home. Bring love into your home for this is where our love for each other must start.

So if having a Mother Teresa Bobblehead can remind you to devote yourself to loving in a more Christ-like fashion, be sure to enter this week's contest.
