Saucy Apple Pork Chops
Makes 6 servings
Ingredients:
2 cups applesauce
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 clove garlic minced
1/4 teaspoon ginger
6 boneless pork loin chops (1/2" thick)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, combine the applesauce, sugar, soy sauce, garlic and ginger; mix well. Pour into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
2. In a skillet, brown pork chops in butter; place over applesauce mixture.
3. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 30 minutes or until meat is tender.
Serve with Stovetop Stuffing and Green Beans
Snickerdoodles
Makes 4 Dozen
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Heat oven to 400°F. In large bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups sugar and margarine; beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well. Add flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt; mix well.
2. In small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
3. Bake at 400°F. for 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.
