Apple Juice Pork Chops
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
4 pork chops
Seasoned salt
1/4 cup water
1 12-ounce can frozen apple juice concentrate
Instructions:
1. Place meat in skillet and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
2. Cook on both sides until lightly browned. Add water and frozen apple juice.
3. Cover with lid and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until meat is cooked.
Apple Stuffed Acorn Squash
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients:
2 squash acorn
2 apples tart red
2/3 cup cashew nuts broken
5 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
4 1/2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Instructions:
1. Wash squash; cut in half lengthwise. Scoop out seeds and stringy substance.
2. Wash, core and dice unpaired apples. Combine with cashews syrup, and 2 1/2 T. butter.
3. Fill squash halves with apple mixture. Brush surface with additional melted butter or margarine.
4. Place squash in a baking dish and pour in boiling water to depth of 1/2 inch. Cover dish with foil and bake in a preheated 400° F oven for 45 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes. Test squash with a fork to be sure it is tender.
