Tanzania Journal

Next week at this time, I will be aboard the first of my three flights to Tanzania! Today, Catholic Relief Services shared the official press release about our trip. Somehow, seeing it in "ink" excites me even more! Here are some of the details, as well as the names and platforms of my fellow travelers:

Catholic Journalists to Broadcast Live from Tanzania

In order to see firsthand the fruits from funding from CRS Rice Bowl a group of leading Catholic radio and web journalists will be in Tanzania between January 25 and 31.

Tanzania is the country featured during the first week of Lent in CRS Rice Bowl’s materials. The team will go to the Soya ni Pesa (Soybeans are Money) project featured in the Stories of Hope. You can follow their visit at #CRSmedia. Trip members will be broadcasting, posting and tweeting as they visit Catholic Relief Services projects that boost agriculture and livelihoods for small farmers in this east African country.

The trip members are Lisa Hendey, author and producer of the popular blog CatholicMom.com. Dr. Matthew Bunson, author, broadcaster, theologian and senior columnist for Our Sunday Visitor. Drew Mariani, the host of the Drew Mariani Show on Relevant Radio. Matt Swaim, the host of theSon Rise Morning Show heard across the EWTN radio network.

Lent 2015 is the 40th anniversary of CRS Rice Bowl.

Please take three minutes and watch this amazing video. We will be going to some of these exact locations, meeting the farmers and families, and taking in all that this amazing country has to offer. And I'll be sharing every part of this blessing with you here, on Facebook, on Youtube, at Instagram and on Twitter. Start packing your bags!!

Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, patroness of Tanzania, pray for us!
