Book Notes 720 x 340 medium blue outline and medium blue pen _ Notes light blue (2)

Have you ever wondered what a book that combines psychology and neuroscience with true authentic Catholicism would be like?

Well now you can read it for yourself with Dr. Gregory Popcack's newest book - Broken Gods: Hope, Healing, and the Seven Longings of the Human Heart.

For me, reading Broken Gods was like going to a therapy session and spiritual direction all at once. Dr. Popcack leads us through what the seven longings of our hearts are, how they get distorted, and what tools - and virtues - we can  use to overcome our weaknesses and get back to the "perfect gods" the God created us to be.

Broken Gods: Hope, Healing, and the Seven Longings of the Human Heart offers the world a message of hope - that we can heal from our brokenness and truly attain all that we long for and all that we are created for.

Thanks to Image Catholic Books for the chance to read it in exchange for my honest review and also for setting up a Hangout interview for Dr. Popcack and me. I was so honored to have the chance to talk with him about his book, about mom guilt, and about how to find dignity instead of envy in my days as a mother.

If you'd like to watch or listen to our Hangout, head on over to the Simplemama blog. There are a few more hours left for the Broken Gods giveaway going on over there too!

Do you ever feel broken or trapped by your own sins and weaknesses?
