Book-Notes-720-x-340-dark-gold-outline-and-medium-blue-pen-_-Notes-light-blue-702x336 Lisa Duffy gently holds your hand and accompanies you in the difficult journey of divorce in Mending the Heart: A Catholic Annulment Companion. Lisa concisely and compassionately explains common myths and misconceptions, often perpetuated by secular media, about this  process. She explains what the Catholic Church really teaches about marriage, divorce, and annulments.
"... you are likely reading this book because you or someone you know has gone through a divorce, and you are looking for answers about the Catholic annulment process. But if I may guess, you don’t just want technical answers about the process, you want to know what the experience is like, yes? You’re seeking answers to deeper questions like I was. Questions like, How in the world did I end up here? How could God allow my marriage to end in divorce? Am I still accepted in my Church? And probably most importantly, Where do I go from here?" --Excerpt from Mending the Heart: A Catholic Annulment Companion, by Lisa Duffy
The author explains how to identify sacramental marriages and valid Catholic marriages. She helps the reader understand what a tribunal is and what the tribunal will explore during the annulment process. She uses her own experience to explore this topic with reason and sensitivity. Lisa clarifies the journey of divorce recovery and the part pursuing an annulment can help play in that process. Our journeys, and my own research for Three Things Divorced Catholics Need to Know, have brought us to a similar place of healing and understanding. Lisa's book is a deeper look into this topic. The book is concise, a fairly quick and easy read, which is helpful when going through an often traumatic and difficult time in life. I found Lisa's book to be informative and encouraging. This book is a must read for anyone going through the annulment process!
