This week, we celebrated the feast of Divine Mercy. I've come to love the chaplet over the years, as it is the prayer I can pray when all the others are just too much. It's been a comfort when I've had kids in the hospital, and when grieving the loss of a friend or family member. Part of what the graces of Divine Mercy reveal is, God's mercy is love. Love is always pre-emptive. It's waiting for us, it's a given we need only allow ourselves to receive. So it occurred to me to say "Thank you in advance," for those things I've spent much time praying over. Like my daughter getting a job. She got a job interview and offer on Divine Mercy Sunday. Of course, like a kid in a candy store, I immediately thought, I should say thank you for these other things ... and with a giggle, realized, I should. So I thanked God for all those intentions of the week I did not know yet I needed to pray for ... and the insight of a second saint that always rather puzzled me made sense: Saint Pio's "Pray, hope and don't worry." It fit well with Saint Faustina's "Jesus, I trust in you" and Saint Teresa of Calcutta's Emergency Novena. So this week, pray thanks for all you have not yet received. Make this your week to celebrate Small Successes you have yet to know, and prepare to be amazed.

What small successes are you celebrating this week?
