Some weeks, you play through, some weeks you run, some you pray through, and some you just endure. May is full of those sort of weeks where you look at the schedule and think, there’s no way I’ll get it all done. Two in a concert on Tuesday night, an award ceremony also on Tuesday at 6:30, and a musical gala for a third child that same evening. Thursday is a signing day for my second son. Friday that same son goes to State through Saturday. We also have music lessons on Saturday, and I’m sure a few other things I’ve forgotten. The week looked full, and grew fuller when my oldest son suffered a car accident. He’s broken his thumb, and with it, all the plans for what was going to be a busy week. The schedule cleared in an instant, because we needed to get him to the ER and to a specialist, pick up a rental car, and call the insurance. It’s amazing how much can get done when it must, even though before you thought you must, you would have said you couldn’t. My point this week is to remind each of us that life is what happens when you make other plans. God’s plans are what happen whenever you allow Him to act. So pray this week for the coming week of Small Success, for the will to do God’s will.

What did we do this week? 1) Took Sunday (after Mass), off. 2) Made it to the school musical and the award ceremony, and scheduled a doctor appointment. 3) Remembered it’s okay if we don’t get to everything, and to ask each day for God to reveal His plan, and help us will to will it, whether it’s kindness to children, exercise, writing or getting through the chores and tasks of the day.

Hope your week is full of small successes, both planned and otherwise.

Happy Small Success Thursday!

What small successes are you celebrating this week?
