"Why we should be friends" by Abby Watts (CatholicMom.com) Photo by Becca Tapert on Unsplash.com; CC0 Public Domain[/caption] I think you and I should be friends. Why? ... because I love the convenience of online shopping until I have to get up to get my wallet. ... because some days are a win simply because I got the clothes into the dryer before they started to smell bad. ... because I, too, order the obligatory water and then neglect to take a single sip until the end of the meal (and that’s only so the server doesn’t have to carry a full glass away while rolling her eyes). ... because I can count on more than one hand the number of times I’ve remembered the birthday candles but forgotten the matches (why can’t someone in this family smoke!?). ... because throwing away the cooking instructions makes me immediately forget how to make even the simplest food. ... because we both know every time a sock goes missing from the dryer it comes back as a Tupperware lid. ... because I cannot resist telling everyone when my dress has pockets. ... because I rock back and forth in church even when I'm not holding a baby. ... because some days I think, "I'm pretty good at this!" and then the next I'm in the bathroom crying. ... because we both know that parenting means you lose your mind but you find your soul. Should we get together for brunch next Sunday? That might not be possible, but we can pray for one another, that in these years when we are juggling so much life, we can love to the best of our ability, remember what’s important, and keep a sense of humor. And I’m pretty sure that automatically makes us forever friends.

Why do you think we should be friends?
