Small Success Thursday is about taking an assessment of the past week of when we brought God our hearts, rather than merely our hearts’ wants. I had a list of things I wanted to have happen last week.

They didn't happen. However, it remained a very good week for which I am grateful.

I also had a list of things I didn't want to deal with, which I wound up dealing with, and for which -- eventually -- I was grateful.
While Small Success Thursday is about triumphing the little things in life, a lost pound, a found key, a pesky errand dealt with, a happy outcome experienced, it's also about the triumph of coping with an unplanned task, extra errand, and the unexpected trial. Our God is a God of the smallest and biggest of things, and takes joy in our delights over both those which reveal perseverance and those which we fall into naturally. So last week I:

1) Read a book.

2) Made it to get my will signed. (Paperwork I’ve been meaning to do, but hadn’t yet done).

3) Had a date night with my husband.

They’re not answers to prayers; they’re ordinary things which needed to be done, but they added salt and light to the week, because they made the everyday less ordinary. They brought joy of leisure/relaxation, of responsibility, and exclusive time with my favorite person. They were all both non-vital and yet necessary parts of life, for which I give thanks. They also made up for the extra errands, late nights, and unexpected bout of sinus infections half my family caught over the weekend (including me).
Hope you have three things to share revealing the non-vital yet necessary events of the past week, for which you give thanks, and which brought your week joy.

What small successes are you celebrating this week?
