St. Patrick's Journey, a new picture book by Calee Lee and Jacob Lee, introduces young children to the story of the saint who evangelized Ireland.
A peg-saint figure of St. Patrick is depicted in various pilgrimage sites around Ireland -- a unique portrayal that will be familiar to the selfie crowd or children used to taking a Flat Stanley or class mascot along on adventures.
Parents and children will learn together of the miraculous adventures of this saint, in addition to his deep devotion. At the end of the book, a map of St. Patrick's Ireland shows the places where St. Patrick lived and prayed -- and it's keyed to the pages in the book, so readers can look back and see actual photographs of what those sites look like today.
The final touch in St. Patrick's Journey is a page with directions on how to paint your own peg-saint Patrick.
