Elizabeth Estrada started a new tradition with holiday greeting cards, including holy cards with pictures of Our Lady.
Last year I decided to send a type of Advent card instead of my usual Christmas cards to friends and family. I was inspired by a beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe stamp a good friend of mine gave me some years ago. I decided to make the cards and send them off with blessings.
It was wonderful to be able to send a holy card of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the card as well. Some of my friends and family really liked the card, and if they didn’t know much of our Lady of Guadalupe it piqued their interest.
Again, this year I decided to do this again but used the stamp in a different way but included another holy card of Our Lady again. My hope is not only to send them in anticipation of our Lord’s coming but also as a reminder of Our Lady’s fiat that changed the world.
My hope is that these cards help us ponder Our Lady's wonderful witness of obedience and trust in our Lord. In this new liturgical year, when we have just celebrate her Immaculate Conception and her appearance to Juan Diego, it helps to remember that we are not alone in our journey on this earth and that she is also a wonderful gift to us from God.
As you prepare for Our Lord’s coming, what traditions do you have to spread the wonderful love Our Lady and Our Lord have for us?
