What if beauty is not something you see but something you seek? Ellen Mongan invites all to watch the documentary series Seeking Beauty and answer that question for themselves.

What Is Beauty?

They say, “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” What are your eyes focusing on? What if Beauty is not something you see but something you seek? Beauty is a language of the soul and can open the door of your heart, letting God in and enabling you to know Him better. How can you draw closer to God through beauty? As you seek beauty, you will find God there.

Meet David Henrie, Your Tour Guide

Actor David Henrie hosts the EWTN documentary series, Seeking Beauty. As your tour guide, David invites you to accompany him as he moderates the series.  David loves to travel, watch travel movies, and, along the way, discover new places to see, interesting people to meet, and the stories behind each. Beauty is found in the Catholic faith, in sacred art, architecture, and in the people.

As the host of Seeking Beauty, David Henrie becomes your personal tour guide through the Vatican, Rome, Venice, Milan, and beyond. David asks the questions you want answers to as he engages you with a variety of people and has a lot of fun doing it. His tour of these cities makes you feel like you’ve been there, while at the same time stirs up a desire in your heart to go there one day yourself.

Many people may want to see the world but are unable to do so at this time. Not to worry: Come along on a journey with David to seek beauty. Discover for yourself how timeless beauty still speaks to us today. David Henrie begins his hunt for beauty in the Vatican, where it all began with Peter, the first pope.

And so I say to you, you are Peter, and this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18)

Beauty Tells a Story

By following tour guide David Henrie, you will see how beauty touches all of our senses, through your sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing. You will become more fully alive. This series invites you to get to know God through the beauty all around you.

Beauty always tells a story. It encourages you to ask, ”Why? Followed by a second inquiry, “Did faith play a part?” Dialoguing together, you will discover what is inside a person. When you experience beauty, there is always a story behind it. The story beckons you to listen to with your heart, to pause a moment in prayer, and discover for yourselves what it is saying to you. Once you see beauty, it resides in your soul forever.

Beauty Changes the Way You See

Beauty changes the way you see everything; it opens your heart to see God more clearly and invites you to go deeper in your relationship with God. Let your heart be opened to be moved. May your eyes always be open to see beauty in full color and all its splendor. In the presence of beauty, you know that God is present.

Let the series Seeking Beauty play a melody in your heart. Hopefully, the scenes from this documentary will surface when you need to remember that God is ever near. Beauty will always remain a language of the soul, sung for all eternity. Travel on and let beauty speak to you. Joining David Henrie on his tours of these cities will help you see the unique beauty of each. Do not be surprised if the desire grows in your heart to plan a trip and tour them yourself. This is what the documentary did for me. Come along on the tour of Italy with David Henrie and see for yourself. Timeless beauty still speaks to us today.
