Daily Gospel Reflection for October 21, 2019

Reflection by Holy Trinity Youth Ministry Today's Gospel: Luke 12:13-21 We often worry about what is or will become ours. Do we have a good car? Do we have a big enough house? Often it's not a matter of mere sustenance, it's prestige. We also want to make sure we have the most (and "best") friends, even if that means we have to exclude others to assure our place in the pack. The words God speaks today may seem harsh. "You fool" is a wake up call to not become obsessed with the things that pass, for indeed those very things may prevent us from drawing closer to God and to each other, the very ones we are called to share with at the heavenly banquet.

What part of my life am I most selfish with?

Pray:

Father, if I were truly to receive my "fair share" I might be surprised at how my blessings are divided among others. Help me to graciously share my inheritance of Your Kingdom with an open heart, including with those who watch from afar.
