Today's Gospel: John 3:31-36

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.”
Today’s Gospel reminds us of something extraordinary: Jesus comes from above, from the very heart of the Father, bringing us the full truth of God’s love. He doesn’t speak theories or secondhand stories — He testifies to what He has seen and heard. His words are an invitation to believe, to trust, and to share in eternal life with Him.
 
Belief in Jesus isn’t just about knowing who He is. It’s about a living relationship with Him that touches every part of our lives. Eternal life doesn’t begin only after death; it begins here and now, when our hearts and homes are centered on Christ. Families that make room for Jesus discover that faith transforms ordinary spaces — kitchens, cars, backyards — into holy places where God dwells.
 
Too often, the world resists this truth because it requires faith, surrender, and obedience. But when families choose to pray together, forgive one another, and keep their eyes on eternal life, they make their homes into small glimpses of heaven. A house filled with love, prayer, and joy becomes a testimony of Jesus’s truth to the world.
 
Parents, your most important mission isn’t just providing for your children today—it’s guiding them toward eternal life with Jesus. By making your home a place of prayer, mercy, and joy, you are building a foundation that lasts forever.

How can I make my home more like a "little heaven” today?

 

Pray:

Jesus, You are the way to eternal life. Enter our home and fill it with Your presence and peace.

 

Pray Together:

Light a candle during family prayer this week as a reminder that Jesus is the light of your home. After reading John 3:16 together, share one way your family can make your home a little more like heaven — through prayer, forgiveness, or acts of kindness.

Father Pinto Paul, C.S.C., Ph.D., serves as the International Director of Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM). In this role, he provides leadership and support to HCFM ministries in 18 countries across 6 continents, helping advance the mission of strengthening family prayer, faith formation, and spiritual life around the world. Originally from Kerala, India, Father Pinto spent ten years as a missionary in Tripura with the Northeast Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Before his appointment as International Director, he served as Special Assistant to the President of Holy Cross Family Ministries. He also ministered for six years in Campus Ministry at Stonehill College, accompanying students in their faith formation, leadership development, and spiritual growth.
